Summertime is for watching movies outdoors. The kids all like the loud ones – Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, etc. Sometimes, though, it’s nice just to sit in back, have dinner and a glass of wine and enjoy a grown-up film – like Manhattan. Woody Allen is the best at creating neurotic characters we actually like and Manhattan is one of Allan’s best. A simple story, interesting characters and beautiful images of Manhattan. But the real star of the film is the Gershwin soundtrack. Time to make the popcorn.
