Green Tourism – Abu Dhabi Style

The Green Weenie – Maurice Strong
Just when we thought we had heard the last from the disgraced former under-secretary general of the United Nations, Maurice Strong showed up at the first ever World Green Tourism Conference in Abu Dhabi.

It was back in 2005, while serving as the personal envoy to UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, that Strong had endorsed a check for $988,885, made out to “Mr. M. Strong,” issued by a Jordanian bank.

It was reported that the check was hand-delivered to Mr. Strong by South Korean businessman, Tongsun Park, who in 2006 was convicted in New York federal court of conspiring to bribe U.N. officials to rig Oil-for-Food in favor of Saddam Hussein.

During the inquiry, Strong stepped down from his U.N. post and moved to China. Not long after arriving in Hong Kong, Strong and one of his partners in crime, George Soros, attempted to push the Chinese made ‘Chery’ cars and SUVs on the America car buyer in hopes of putting US carmakers out of business. So far, no Chery cars are in the US.

In 2010 Strong and his partner in the now defunct Chicago Climate Exchange, Al Gore, made millions from their carbon trading company. That wasn’t the last time we would hear about Maurice strong and a scheme to make money off the climate.

In December, the 82-year-old “godfather of global warming” popped up in the middle eastern desert selling his latest climate snake oil scheme to the Arabs – ecotourism. Yes, Maurice Strong and his friends want to reduce the carbon footprint of tourism by creating policies and guidelines for the travel industry. If theĀ ecotourism creators get their way, expect to pay a lot more for your future vacations.
